FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Philadelphia, PA (October 27, 2025) – The National Lacrosse League (NLL) and Lacrosse Canada (LC) today announced a formal partnership to strengthen the growth, visibility, and development of lacrosse throughout Canada and internationally. This collaboration establishes a shared framework for cooperation, uniting North America’s premier indoor professional lacrosse league and Canada’s national governing body in advancing participation, education, and opportunity at every level of sport.
The partnership’s core objectives include promoting lacrosse through joint marketing and community initiatives, expanding grassroots programming nationwide, enhancing player and official development, and creating a seamless pathway from amateur competition to the professional and international stage
“Whether it’s introducing the game to more students in schools, expanding access in local communities, or building pathways for the next generation to learn, play, and thrive, this partnership will be pivotal in creating opportunities for young players, coaches, and officials across Canada to grow through lacrosse,” said Dennis Bruzzi, Manager of Grassroots Operations.
Under the partnership, the NLL will support Lacrosse Canada’s national programming and designate LC as a non-exclusive Official Partner of NLL UnBOXed™ in Canada. The League will provide access to its trademarks and style guides, integrate LC materials into UnBOXed™ school activation kits, and feature LC branding across digital platforms and newsletters. In turn, Lacrosse Canada will serve as the NLL’s primary partner in Canada, leading grassroots development programs, collaborating with NLL teams and players, and advancing shared broadcast initiatives through the NLL+ platform. This includes building upon the successful coverage of the 2025 Canada Summer Games and Minto Cup, with plans to expand future national championship programming.
“Our partnership with the NLL and the UnBOXed program helps bring lacrosse closer to Canadians, from introducing the sport in schools to sharing select marquee national championships on NLL+ for free,” said Samantha McKenzie, manager of partnerships for Lacrosse Canada. “It’s an important step in building greater awareness and visibility for the game across the country.”
The National Lacrosse League (NLL) is North America’s largest professional lacrosse league and welcomed more than 1 million fans for the third consecutive year during the 2024-25 season. Founded in 1986, the NLL is comprised of 14 franchises across Canada and the United States, and recently unveiled its largest brand campaign ever, “Welcome to The Next Major League™” and introduced its comprehensive grassroots initiative, NLL UnBOXed™, that will expand the League’s footprint to 60 communities across North America by 2028.
