In the face of adversity, the Colorado Mammoth played a solid road game against the Philadelphia Wings on Saturday afternoon at Wells Fargo Center. Missing Zed Williams, Eli McLaughlin, and Connor Kelly from their forward corps, Ryan Lee stepped up to lead the team to a 10-8 win and spoil Wings’ mascot Wingston’s birthday party.
Lee scored four goals, including the game-winner with 1:14 to play. He added an insurance marker with 33 seconds left and also added two assists as the Mammoth improved to 8-5. The Mammoth led 3-2 after the first quarter and 4-2 at halftime in a first-half defensive battle.
March 15, 2025: The Colorado Mammoth vs Philadelphia Wings
Colorado increased their lead to 6-2 before Philadelphia roared back with five goals in just over five minutes, giving them a brief 7-6 lead. Colorado took the lead back until Joe Resetarits tied the game 8-8, 26 seconds before Lee scored the winner.
“It’s always tough going to the end in a tie game, but you gotta keep your composure, finish strong, and stick together,” Lee said after the game.
Thomas Vela scored a pair of goals for the winners, and Tyson Gibson assisted on four markers. Dillon Ward made 33 saves in goal.
Resetarits became the first American-born player to record 500 career assists, notching the milestone on Brennan O’Neill’s first-period goal. O’Neill picked up a Resetarits shot attempt that hit the boards and bounced out. Resetarits finished the game with a hat trick and four assists.
Congrats to Joe Resetarits!

Make it four wins in a row for the Rochester Knighthawks, who made their first visit to Canadian Tire Centre on Centre to spoil Ottawa’s first Saturday afternoon home game.
Ottawa held a brief 2-1 lead after Jeff Teat and the newly-acquired Travis Longboat each scored, but that was the last lead the Black Bears would have, as Rochester ran up the score and led 14-4 at halftime. Ottawa was better in the second half, but the lead was too insurmountable. Rochester improves to 8-7, while Ottawa falls to 5-7.
Connor Fields put up his second consecutive double-digit game. After scoring 11 points last week against Las Vegas, he picked up 10 in this one: five goals and five assists, not to mention a whopping 19 shots on goal. He reached the 100-point plateau on the season in this game, the third consecutive season he has reached that mark. He is the only American-born player to do it three times.
Connor Fields had himself A DAY, scoring double digits for @RocKnighthawks for the 2nd consecutive game 💪

Though Fields led the team in scoring, goaltender Rylan Hartley was the backbone, making 49 saves in the game.
“Playing net, you need confidence, and when your coach tells you he’s got faith in you no matter what, it’s huge,” Hartley said after the game. “Hutchy (Riley Hutchcraft) too… he’s always supporting me and picking me up. We look down the bench, and we know there are no weak links, and we know we have faith in each other.”
Ryan Smith, Kyle Waters, Thomas McConvey, Chad Tutton, and Graydon Hogg all scored two goals, plus a combined 11 assists. Smith recorded his 300th career point.
It wasn’t a great outing for Ottawa’s defense, including goaltender Zach Higgins, who allowed 15 goals and was given a couple of rests by Cam Dunkerley. However, Rochester put a lot of rubber on the ‘tender – he still stopped 41 of the 56 shots he faced.
Larson Sundown scored a hat trick for Ottawa, and Teat had a pair with four assists.
Mike Sisselberger beat Jay Thorimbert in the face-off battle 16 to 13.
The red hot @RocKnighthawks pick up their 4th consecutive win, beating Ottawa 18-8 🔥

It is always a big night when the Thompson brothers return to Albany, with Lyle and Miles serving as proud alums of the U of Albany while Jeremy starred at nearby Syracuse. With mom and dad in attendance, the Thompson trifecta came up just short, as the hometown FireWolves defeated the Georgia Swarm 11-10. 6,405, the largest crowd in the history of the Albany franchise, had a spectacular view of this extremely entertaining matchup.

Albany led 4-2 after the first period and 9-7 at the halftime pause. After a scoreless third, the New Yorkers stretched to a 10-7 advantage, only for the Southerners to reel off three straight scores, back-to-back numbers from Lyle Thompson, followed by the equalizer via Jordan MacIntosh. Despite Georgia’s fervent comeback, the hosts found a way to escape with a victory, thanks to rookie sensation Dyson Williams’ game-winner with exactly one minute remaining.
The Duke alum finished with two goals and one assist, while Tye Kurtz and Sam Firth each scored on two occasions. Alex Simmons, Ethan Walker and Kyle Jackson were feeling philanthropic, as this trio of talents donated a combined 11 assists.
Shayne Jackson scored three and helped on three others, with Lyle Thompson tabulating three total points in a dramatic defeat.

Last weekend, the Calgary Roughnecks trounced the Buffalo Bandits 17-11 in front of more than 19,000 lacrosse lovers at Buffalo’s KeyBank Center. Fast-forward one week and 2,100 miles, this time it was the two-time defending champions who more than returned the favor, as the Bandits took care of the Roughnecks 11-6, with more than 16,000 Albertans taking in some Saturday night NLL action.

Calgary hurried to a 3-1 first stanza lead that was quickly erased by the Bandits, who posted five consecutive connectors, including two from the stick of Josh Byrne and two more from teammate Kyle Buchanan, giving the Kings of the mountain a 6-3 halftime reward. Buffalo maintained control in the second half, delivering four of the skirmish’s final five scores, with the Byrne/Buchanan tandem once again participating in the act.

In the confrontation of legendary goalies, Matt Vinc obstructed 44 of 50 shots, while recently acquired Nick Rose foiled 40 of 51 Buffalo blasts.

It was just another game, Rob Hellyer told ESPNU’s Hayley Elwood at halftime of the San Diego Seals win over Las Vegas at Pechanga Arena. Yet Sunday afternoon’s Week 16 finale was noteworthy for three reasons: first, it was the Seals’ highest offensive output ever, and second, Hellyer put up a first-quarter sock trick, the last of which was the 300th of his 13-year career. Wes Berg also scored a hat trick, which is the first time since 2009 that teammates have both scored sock tricks in the same game.
An afternoon to remember for Rob Hellyer, who scored a sock trick, 6 assists and the 300th goal of his career.

The Seals are in a good position at 7-6 after the win, in sixth place.
“That’s a solid team effort,” said Jake Govett, who had a hat trick. “It started at the X, Bergy having a sock trick, Hellyer having a sock trick, spreading the ball around. It feels really good, and this team is going in the right direction. We’re a tenacious team.”
San Diego jumped on Las Vegas early and often, racking up a 7-0 lead (and Hellyer four goals) before Tyrell Hamer-Jackson won the faceoff to himself and scored unassisted. With the Dogs scoring only sporadically, the Seals led 13-5 at halftime.
Early in the third, tensions boiled over between the rivals, with Zach Currier and Casey Jackson cross-checking each other into dead-ball foul penalties. Trent DiCicco and Jackson Webster threw their gloves down and went at it on the same stoppage.

Hellyer and Berg each notched six assists to go along with their sock tricks, meaning the pair combined for 24 points. Govett added one assist to his three-goal game, and Ben McIntosh scored twice with four assists. Currier also had a four-point game, his lone goal a highlight-reel marker in which he streaked in on a breakaway, faked the shot, and let it go low while in the air. Ryan Benesch was held scoreless but contributed nine assists. Christopher Origlieri made 29 saves; Mike Poulin made four to finish out the game.
It was another tough outing for the Desert Dogs, who remain in last place with a 3-11 record. Jack Hannah led the charge with four goals and one assist. Jonathan Donville assisted on five goals. Landon Kells and Justin Geddie split time in goal, and Hamer-Jackson won 20 of the 35 faceoffs.
Led by a combined 24-point effort from Wes Berg and Rob Hellyer, @SealsLax score early and often en route to a 20-11 win over Las Vegas.
