Seals Win At Home, Downing Mammoth 12-7 in Week 19

The San Diego Seals, led by longtime NLL veterans Dan Dawson and Kyle Buchanan, defeated the visiting Colorado Mammoth, 12-7, on Friday night at San Diego Pechnaga Arena.

Both Dawson and Buchanan recorded three goals and four assists apiece, combining for 14 points on the night.

Seals forward Casey Jackson, who has stepped up significantly in the wake of Austin Staats’ season-ending ACL injury, also had himself quite the night in the team’s convincing win. Jackson logged four goals from 10 shots and picked up two assists in the affair.

Colorado’s offense, on the other hand, lacked star power. No player scored more than two goals, and the team overall lost the turnover battle 13-7.

Mammoth forward Kyle Killen was the lead man on the offensive end in the losing effort. He scored two goals and two assists as the team’s top points scorer.

Seals goalie Frank Scigliano didn’t make things easy for Killen & Co. Continuing what has been a career year for the San Diego goaltender, Scigliano recorded 45 saves from 52 shots in the contest.

The Mammoth’s efforts in net, which were split between Steve Fryer and Dillon Ward, were underwhelming. The duo combined for just 28 saves from 40 shots on goal.

The Mammoth will play their last game on the road against the Saskatchewan Rush on April 27, 2019. The Seals will take their win to the Buffalo Bandits in their season finale at San Diego Pechanga Arena.
