Week 11 GIF Recap: Colorado @ Saskatchewan

The Saskatchewan Rush and Colorado Mammoth squared off for the first time this season Friday night in Saskatoon. Colorado came into the game at 3-5 and on a two-game winning streak, while Saskatchewan beat Vancouver on February 16th after losing three games in a row.

Each team traded the first five goals of the game, with Saskatchewan leading 3-2 in the second period. Below is Ryan Lee‘s goal to tie the score at one, his first of two goals of the season.

Leading 3-2, Chris Corbeil picked up a missed shot and rifled one past Mammoth goaltender Dillon Ward for the 4-2 lead.

Second Half

Just 1:19 into the second half, Kyle Killen ripped one past Evan Kirk to cut the Mammoth deficit to one, at 5-4.

The Rush came back with two straight goals, both coming with an extra attacker.  Below is Ben McIntosh‘s goal, his only goal of the game.

Colorado struck first in the fourth quarter.  Eli McLaughlin scored from the right side with an extra attacker to cut Colorado’s deficit to two.

Less than two minutes later, Jeff Shattler scored for the Rush to bring Saskatchewan’s lead back up to three.

Colorado came back with two straight goals. The first one by Jacob Ruest and the second (pictured below) by Ryan Lee.

The Mammoth weren’t able to find the net to tie the game. Brett Mydske‘s empty netter sealed the win for the Rush.

Final Score: Saskatchewan Rush 9, Colorado Mammoth 7.
