Week 10 GIF Recap: San Diego @ Toronto

On Friday night, the San Diego Seals and Toronto Rock squared off at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

The Rock came into the game on a five-game winning streak and with the best record in the league, while San Diego was coming off a six-goal performance in a 14-6 loss to Vancouver the week prior.

The Rock struck first, with Johnny Powless scoring the first of his two goals less than five minutes into the game.

Note the great passing and patience by the Rock.

After San Diego scored, Dan Craig went behind the net for a diving goal to give the Rock the lead again.

Less than one minute later, Turner Evans ripped one past Nick Rose to tie the game for the Seals.

Toronto followed with two goals, with the second coming from Dan Lintner on a dive past the right side of the net.

Down 5-3, Casey Jackson scored off a beautiful feed from Austin Staats to get the Seals to within one.

Second Half

Toronto rattled off four of the next five goals (three of them coming in the first half) to take a 9-5 lead. The last goal (pictured below) came from Rob Hellyer, his only goal of the game.

Down 9-5, The Seals stormed back with three goals and trailed 9-8. Turner Evans scored his second goal of the game thanks to a quick, easy pass from Garrett Billings.

The Rock then scored two goals to go back up on top, 11-8. Challen Rogers scored on a breakaway with 4:34 to play in the third quarter.

Down 11-8, San Diego scored twice in a row late in the third period to cut the deficit to one. The 11-10 goal came by Austin Staats, his only goal of the game.

Each team scored once more in the fourth quarter, and the Rock held on for the nail-biting 12-11 win.

Final score: Toronto Rock 12, San Diego Seals 11.
