Week 13 GIF Recap: Buffalo @ Philadelphia

The Buffalo Bandits and Philadelphia Wings squared off Friday night at the Wells Fargo Center. The Bandits entered the game on a five-game winning streak, while the Wings were playing in their first game since the weekend of February 16th, when they split a home-and-home series against New England.

Nearly two minutes into the game, Kiel Matisz scored on a diving goal past Bandits goaltender Matt Vinc to give the Wings the early 1-0 lead.

Nearly five and a half minutes later, the Bandits tied the game when Thomas Hoggarth went backhand on a beautiful shot. It was Hoggarth’s only goal of the game. Buffalo then scored once more on a Chase Fraser goal to take a 2-1 lead.

The Wings then went on a 5-0 run and lead 6-2. Below are goals by Kevin Crowley and Anthony Joaquim.

The Bandits then scored two goals to end the first half down only 6-4. Below is Fraser’s second of four goals on the night.

Second Half

The Wings ended the Bandits 2-0 run with a goal nearly 40 seconds into the second half by Jordan Hall to take a 7-4 lead.

Chris Cloutier then got revenge on his former team with a goal to cut the Bandits deficit to two.

After both teams traded goals, the Wings found themselves ahead 10-8 with 10 seconds left in the third quarter. That’s when Crowley found the net again to give the Wings a three-goal lead.

The fourth quarter was all Buffalo. Trailing 11-8, the Bandits scored three straight goals to end the fourth quarter and once in overtime to leave Philadelphia with the Win.  Below, in order, are goals by Cloutier, the game-tying goal by Corey Small, and the game-winner by Fraser.

Final score: Buffalo Bandits 12, Philadelphia Wings 11.
