Week 14 GIF Recap: Buffalo @ Saskatchewan

On Saturday, the defending champion Saskatchewan Rush and the team with the best record in the league, the Buffalo Bandits faced off in Saskatchewan.

Dhane Smith got things going only 1:21 into the game with a quick rip from the right side past Rush goalie Evan Kirk.

After Steve Priolo scored again for Buffalo, Jeff Shattler put the Rush on the board with a goal, followed by Ryan Keenan (pictured below) to tie the game up at 2.

Second Half

Both teams traded goals the remainder of the first half to send the game into the second half tied at two.

Chris Cloutier ripped one from point blank range past Kirk to get things going in the second half for the Bandits. It would be the start of a 4-0 run for the Bandits.

Below is Thomas Hoggarth‘s goal to give Buffalo the 9-5 lead.

The Rush came back with three straight goals to cut the deficit to 9-8. The goal below is credited to Mark Matthews.

Leading 9-8, Ian Mackay bounced one that got past Kirk and into the goal to put Buffalo back up by two at 10-8.

Later in the fourth quarter, the Rush scored three straight goals to eventually take an 11-10 lead, with the go-ahead goal coming from Shattler from the left side with just over six minutes left in the game.

The Bandits, as the best teams in the league do, didn’t allow a goal the rest of the game and scored twice – once in regulation and once in overtime – to come back for the win.

The below goals are credited to Shawn Evans and Chase Fraser.

Final score: Buffalo Bandits 12, Saskatchewan Rush 11.
