Week 14 GIF Recap: Philadelphia @ San Diego

On Saturday, for the only time this season, both expansion franchises faced off in San Diego, as the Seals hosted the Philadelphia Wings.

Entering the game, the Seals were coming off two wins against the Colorado Mammoth and Vancouver Warriors, while the Wings, at 2-9, had lost two in a row after beating New England on Feb. 16th.

To start the game, Casey Jackson scored 3:30 into the game for the Seals.

After Turner Evans found the net for the Seals, Kevin Crowley scored his first of three goals on the night to put the Wings on the board.

After a Wings goal, Josh Currier and Kiel Matisz scored back to back goals to end the first period and tie the game at three.

The Seals  started the second quarter with three straight goals, the first two by Dan Dawson (first goal below), followed by Austin Staats.

Second Half

After Josh Currier ended the skid for the Wings and Kyle Buchanan scored for the Seals, the Wings scored six straight goals to take a 10-7 lead. The first goal was by Matisz and the last, below as well, is by Justin Guterding.

Late in the fourth quarter is when the game started to get interesting.

Casey Jackson
started things off for the Seals to cut their deficit to 10-8.

Dan Dawson followed with two straight goals to tie the game, his fourth and his fifth goals of the game.

With 1:41 left Currier tied the game at 11 on a rip from the right side to get the Wings back in the game at 11-11.

Just :24 later, Staats gave the Seals the lead, followed by Evans‘ goal with :27 left to cement the win for San Diego.

Final Score: San Diego Seals 12, Philadelphia 11.
