Week 9 GIF Recap: Calgary @ Saskatchewan

The Calgary Roughnecks and Saskatchewan Rush faced off Saturday night at the Sasktel Centre in Saskatoon.

The Roughnecks came into the game off a great win vs. the Vancouver Warriors last week, while the Rush entered the game having lost two in a row.

The Rush got off to a hot start, scoring the first two goals of the game and five of the first six goals to take a 5-1 lead.

Below is Ben McIntosh’s goal to give the Rush the 2-0 lead.

Trailing 5-1, the Roughnecks scored four straight goals to tie the score at 5 – the last goal of which was scored by Dane Dobbie, his first of four goals on the night.

Both teams traded goals and the score was tied at 7 late in the first half. Curtis Dickson scored his third goal of the half to tie the score at 7. The goal would spark a run of six straight goals by the Roughnecks.

Here’s a rip by Tyler Pace to put the Roughnecks up 10-7.

Down 12-7, the Rush scored two goals in a row, including this one by Robert Church, to make the score 12-9. Three goals is the closest the Rush would come to the Roughnecks all game.

Up 14-9, Tyler Pace scored his second straight goal, and his last of four goals on the night to give the Roughnecks the 15-9 lead.

Saskatchewan scored two goals in a row, including this first one, a rifle by Mark Matthews, to make the score 15-11.  But Calgary held on for the win.

Final score: Calgary Roughnecks 17, Saskatchewan Rush 12.
