Weekend Warmup – Week Four

The 31st season in NLL history is in full swing, with three weeks of games already in the books. Week Four begins this Friday in Georgia, where the upstart Swarm will host a Black Wolves team desperate for its first win. New England entered the season as one of the East Division favorites but have struggled out of the gate, falling to 0-2 after an overtime loss to the Mammoth this past Saturday. The Swarm have impressed early on, defeating the reigning NLL Champions Saskatchewan to open the season, and knocking off the Bandits on the road this past weekend. Faceoff is set for 7:35 P.M. EST at the Infinite Energy Arena in Georgia.

Friday’s second matchup takes place at the Pepsi Center in Colorado between two of the heavyweights out west – the Mammoth and the Roughnecks. Both teams earned impressive victories last Saturday night, and will look to build off that momentum in Denver. The action will begin at 9:30 P.M. EST.

Saturday’s slate of games begins in Banditland, where Buffalo hosts Vancouver. The defending East Division Champion Bandits are still looking for their first win of the year after falling to the Mammoth and Swarm at home. Buffalo will be without 2016 NLL MVP Dhane Smith, who will miss the game with a lower-body injury. Faceoff is set for 7:30 P.M. EST at the KeyBank Center.

Week Four concludes with a banner raising ceremony in Saskatchewan, where the Rush host the Knighthawks. It will be Saskatchewan’s first non-exhibition game at the SaskTel Centre since capturing the 2016 Champion’s Cup. The trip home comes at an ideal time for the Rush, who are 0-2 this year after defeats in Georgia and Toronto. Rochester is coming off a bye week and hasn’t played since comfortably defeating the Black Wolves 15-8 on January 7th.
