40 Years: Quebec Caribous Honor ’75 Old Nll Title

The Québec lacrosse community recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of the first NLL game on April 21 at the old Québec Coliseum in Québec City. According to the Québec lacrosse federation, the 2015 Québec SR team (Wendake) produced a banner to honor the 1975 Caribous who won the NLL championship that year. The banner was unveiled by Bruce Todman and Robert Bleau who both played with the ’75 Caribous. The plan, now, is to present the banner to Québecor and to have it hoisted in the new Coliseum called Le Centre Videotron.

The National Lacrosse League has recently featured two preseason matchups in Québec, both between the Toronto Rock and Rochester Knighthawks at Bell Centre in Montreal. The Rock emerged victorious in both exhibitions in 2014 (TOR 15 – ROC 7) and 2012 (TOR 14 – ROC 10) against its East Division rival.
