Bandits Match Black Wolves’ Offer To Restricted Free Agent Petkoff

Buffalo signs five-year veteran defenseman after New England tenders offer

The Buffalo Bandits have matched the New England Black Wolves’ offer sheet to restricted free agent defenseman Drew Petkoff for a one-year contract for the 2015 National Lacrosse League season. Buffalo had 72 hours to match New England’s offer for the defender who possesses a scoring touch.

Petkoff spent his first four seasons with the Toronto Rock before joining the Bandits where he was inactive for the 2013 season and on the training camp roster for 2014 while recovering from injury. The Hamilton, Ontario native has played 28 career games with 13 points (2+11) and 132 loose balls.

The Bandits open the 2015 NLL season on the road against the Black Wolves at Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, Jan. 2. Buffalo plays their home opener the next night on Saturday, Jan. 3 against the Edmonton Rush at First Niagara Center.
