Bandits Re-Sign Smith To One-Year Deal

The Buffalo Bandits have announced the team has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with longtime veteran defenseman Billy Dee Smith.

Smith had five points (1+4) and 32 loose ball recoveries while playing a career-high 17 games during the 2015 season. He is fourth all-time in Bandits history with 163 games played, and also ranks first in team history with 526 penalty minutes and 10th with 472 loose ball recoveries.

The St. Catharines, Ontario native has served as an alternate captain for the Bandits during each of the last two seasons. The team used its franchise tag on Smith in July to retain his rights for the 2016 season.
