Bandits’ Smith Wins Pinty’S Wingman For Week 17

The National Lacrosse League has announced Buffalo Bandits forward Dhane Smith as the “Pinty’s Wingman of the Week” award winner for Week 17 of the 2015 NLL regular season, marking the second time Smith has earned the award after previously winning in Week 6.

Smith, who ranks fourth in the NLL in points (98), third in assists (61) and tied for eighth in goals (37), recorded a combined 16 points with 13 assists in Buffalo’s weekend sweep over Vancouver and New England that clinched a playoff spot for the Bandits.

Buffalo’s first-round (5th overall) selection in the 2012 NLL Draft, the third-year pro has registered three or more points in all 17 games this season including 13 games with five-plus points. The 23-year-old from Kitchener, Ontario has already shattered his previous career highs in points (59), goals (24) and assists (39).

Pinty’s is an official partner for the NLL on TSN during the 2015 season. Each week, an NLL player will receive the “Pinty’s Wingman of the Week” award based on their performance with respect to passing prowess and playmaking abilities. The weekly award winners will be entered into the pool of finalists for the “Pinty’s Wingman of the Year” award at the end of the season.
