Discipline Summary: Nll Week 14

The National Lacrosse League has issued a summary of discipline following the league’s official review of NLL Week 14 for games played on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4.

Vancouver Stealth defenseman Rory Smith has been assessed a two-game suspension for a high-sticking incident on Edmonton Rush forward Jarrett Davis at approximately the 8:53 mark of the fourth quarter of their game on April 4. No call was made on the field, but upon league review, Smith has been assessed a match penalty for violation of High Sticking (Rule 62.2), which carries an automatic two-game suspension (Rule 41.2). Smith withdrew his appeal of the suspension after Friday’s game in Toronto and will begin serving the two-game suspension starting with Sunday’s game in New England.

New England Black Wolves defenseman Bill O’Brien has been assessed a game misconduct penalty for an Illegal Body Checking (Rule 70.8) incident on Buffalo Bandits forward Ryan Benesch at approximately the 6:54 mark of the fourth quarter of their game on April 4.

Calgary Roughnecks defenseman Garrett McIntosh has been assessed a game misconduct penalty as a result of receiving three major penalties (excluding fighting majors) during the 2015 NLL regular season (Rule 40.1). McIntosh was assessed high sticking majors on April 3 and January 3 along with an elbowing major on February 14.
