Discipline Summary: Nll Week 17

The National Lacrosse League has issued a summary of discipline following official league review of NLL Week 17 for games played on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26.

Rochester Knighthawks defenseman Paul Dawson has been assessed a game misconduct and one-game suspension after his leaving the bench to engage in a fight incident with New England Black Wolves defenseman Bill O’Brien at approximately the 4:57 mark of the second quarter of their game on April 25. Dawson received a game misconduct penalty for violation of Leaving Players Bench or Penalty Box (Rule 96.2). With his third game misconduct penalty accrual of the season, after receiving game misconducts for incidents on January 10 (two majors in one game) and February 6 (unsportsmanlike conduct), Dawson has been asssessed an automatic one-game suspension (Rule 40.2).

New England Black Wolves defenseman Sheldon Burns has been assessed a two-game suspension for a high-sticking incident on Rochester Knighthawks forward Joe Resetarits at approximately the 11:01 mark of the second quarter of their game on April 25. The officials called a minor penalty for elbowing on the field, but upon league review, Burns has been assessed a match penalty for violation of High Sticking (Rule 62.2) which carries an automatic two-game suspension (Rule 41.2).
