Youth clubs will face off in a weekend-long competition

The National Lacrosse League (NLL), the largest men’s professional indoor lacrosse league in North America, today announced the schedule for its fifth annual Junior NLL Tournament, a weekend-long competition featuring youth clubs representing NLL teams across North America. Teams from three divisions will compete at the Toronto Rock Athletic Center and Glen Abbey Community Center in Oakville, Ontario from Friday, August 25 to Sunday August 27.

Junior clubs for Buffalo Bandits, Calgary Roughnecks, Colorado Mammoth, Georgia Swarm, New England Black Wolves, Rochester Knighthawks, Saskatchewan Rush, Toronto Rock and Vancouver Stealth, along with Junior Edmonton and Junior Philadelphia clubs, will compete with players participating across Peewee, Bantam and Midget age levels. The teams follow modified NLL playing rules to create a safe, yet competitive, environment for the young athletes. Players, coaches and staff from the NLL will take part in the weekend, which will kick off with an opening ceremony and skills competition on Friday August 25.

“The Rock have been incredibly instrumental in supporting this important grassroots programming since its inception and our partnership has solidified the success of the event year-after-year,” said Nick Sakiewicz, Commissioner of the National Lacrosse League. “Growing participation levels of box lacrosse across North America is a key focus for the League, and this event continues to help us reach that goal.”
