GAME PICKS: NLL – Week 7

Only two games on the National Lacrosse League Week 7 schedule, but wow are they important ones with a plethora of storylines attached.

Saskatchewan tries to remain the only undefeated team and create further separation atop the West. Their opponents Buffalo are in a three-way tie for third in a crowded East.

The other matchup sees a Black Wolves group that can do a lot of damage within the division by securing a victory. A New England win would give them a two game buffer for first place, while also taking the season series against Rochester. The Knighthawks are tailspinning having lost their last three, however, a “W” brings the record back to .500.

NLL staff members Andy McNamara, Ashley Docking, Tyson Geick, and Brian Shanahan deliver their game predictions every week.

Buffalo Bandits (2-3) at Saskatchewan Rush (4-0) – Friday, 8:30pm ET

Andy

The Rush in Saskatoon is a nasty place for visiting clubs. Buffalo lost a nail biter to Vancouver this past weekend and are a dangerous, yet inconsistent group. If this was in Banditland i’d say this would be a pick’em…but it’s not. Give me Saskatchewan to win comfortably.

Pick: Rush

I’ll have a tough time betting against Saskatchewan given the way they’re playing right now. I like the Bandits offense, but I think the Rush offense will be too much for the Bandits defense to handle.

Rochester Knighthawks (2-3) at New England Black Wolves (3-1) – Sunday, 1pm ET

Andy

Well I certainly didn’t see the Knighthawks getting swept last week or them being on a three game losing streak. However, that’s life in the NLL and the young Rochester core needs to snap out of it quickly.

There’s something about this New England group. They quietly go about their business without a lot of fanfare and are proving to be a force. I believe the Black Wolves edge the K-Hawks in another close battle and show everyone that they are the class of the East Division.

Pick: Black Wolves

This team’s now dropped three straight after starting the season extremely hot. I expect them to play with a chip on their shoulders in this game. While it’ll be close, I think Rochester will sneak a win here to improve to .500 again.

Pick: Knighthawks
