Celebrating the start of its sophomore summer season, the Greater Philadelphia Collegiate Box Lacrosse League (GPCBLL) will begin streaming games on NLL+ starting June 16th, 2025.
Hosted and founded by the NLL’s own Philadelphia Wings and sponsored by Uncommon Fit, the GPCBLL is designed to “promote the game of box lacrosse to collegiate athletes in the region and build another pipeline for players to the NLL Draft.” In addition to the promise of top-of-the-line box instruction from the NLL’s finest, the league also offers the opportunity to compete amongst the best collegiate teams in the country at the National Collegiate Box Series at the end of the summer as a part of the GPCBLL’s All-Star Team, the Philadelphia Kings.
In its inaugural 2024 season, the league hosted over 50 players from all levels of competition around the country, including top-level programs such as Notre Dame, Saint Joseph’s University, New Jersey Institute of Technology and Salisbury. The League made good on its promise to blaze a path to the Draft for American-born players as well. After its first season, the GPCBLL had three of its participants declare for the 2024 Entry Draft, and two get picked up by the house team, the Philadelphia Wings, in the sixth round– goalie Matt Kuhn and faceoff specialist Steve DelleMonache, who made his League debut against the Colorado Mammoth in Week 15 of the NLL regular season.
After a successful preseason combine, the deck has been shuffled and this season’s GPCBLL rosters have been finalized, presenting a meticulously designed blend of new and returning talent.
FDR Park Rangers
The current reigning champs, the FDR Park Rangers, are suiting back up in their now trademark forest green for another exciting season. During their inaugural season, their roster was made up of a significant number of current St. Joseph’s University players, brought in by Hawks assistant coach and Rangers head coach Anthony Joaquim. Though St. Joe’s still holds five slots of FDR Park’s nineteen-man roster, this year’s squad holds the potential to turn heads and take the GPCBLL Cup a second year in a row.
Returning to the GPCBLL and the FDR Park Rangers is St. Joseph’s defensive midfielder and transition forward Sam Forte. Forte was awarded the title of GPCBLL MVP during their inaugural season for his outstanding performance on both sides of the ball, tallying 17 points (10G, 7A) and picking up 38 loose balls during the League’s six-game season, as well as averaging a whopping 52.6% at the faceoff-x. Forte is currently the first and only player to declare for the NLL Entry Draft ahead of the 2025 summer season.
Also returning to the FDR Park, Catholic University’s McKinley twins, Ian and Patrick, as well as two former Spring Garden players, Jayden Cox and St. Joseph’s defender Stephen Pitts, as well as Belmont Abbey College midfielder Connor Mann.
Most interestingly, however, the FDR Park Rangers are boasting a significant number of D3 talents. Two Coastal Lacrosse Conference rivals will have to learn to work together in the GPCBLL this summer, namely Salisbury University’s Nick Donofrio and Kean University’s Alex Stanuikynas. Stanuikynas only recently transferred into the CLC from Chatham University.
The neighboring conference, the Middle Atlantic, is fielding representatives from both the MAC Commonwealth and MAC Freedom. From Arcadia University in the MAC Freedom, Marco Bird and Landon Cantwell, and from Stevens Institute of Technology, Sid Johansen. Across the bridge in the Commonwealth, Stevenson University’s Colton Loughlin will also be trading his Mustangs gear for Rangers apparel alongside his Middle Atlantic adversaries.

Schuylkill River Monsters
Once again being fearlessly led by the Wings’ own Blaze Riorden, the Schuylkill River Monsters were unable to maintain a significant chunk of the previous season’s roster. Returning to the River Monsters from 2024’s inaugural roster are defender Ryan Bradley and midfielder Graham Lindsay. Also backing up the two on the defensive line is returning goaltender Toby Feddor. Bradley was also part of the GPCBLL’s first NCBS Kings roster.
The River Monsters are also carrying two more members of the 2024 Kings, forward Kyle Gann, previously of the Spring Garden Stealth, and transition defender Ian Bittenbender. Bittendnder, a late addition to the Kings, was not a participant in the GPCBLL inaugural season, but has extensive box experience with the Mahopac Water Panthers and Tres Gulpes LC, the Dominican Republic representative team at the 2024 North American Invitational.
Alongside their three St. Joe’s representatives, the River Monsters are also carrying several NCAA Division 1 talents for up and down the East Coast, including West Virginia University’s Jackson Smith and Richmond University’s Quinn Carson, both of whom will be making their Greater Philadelphia Collegiate debut, as well as first-timer Vijay Foster, hailing from Michigan State.
Schuylkill River also skated out of the 2025 reshuffle with several returning players from both FDR Park and Spring Garden, including NCBS representative Kyle Gann, finishing his sophomore year Moravian University, and Mount Saint Vincent’s Saivon Williams. Williams is also a frequent active roster member for the NABLL’s West Rock Warhogs.

Spring Garden Stealth
Coached by former Albany Firewolf and current Head of Youth Development for the Philadelphia Wings Brett Manney, the 2024 GPCBLL runner-ups are back on the floor and ready to make this a standout year for the team. The Stealth were able to come out of the League draft with five holdovers from their inaugural season, including two members of the 2024 Philadelphia Kings roster, Clark University attackman Tate Gorman and New Jersey Institute of Technology attackman Alystair Hemberger. Hemberger tallied 18 points for the Kings (13G, 5A), and was recognized as the GPCBLL’s Offensive Player of the Year.
Also returning to the Spring Garden is Kyle Bergen, who just completed his freshman year on the Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team, and Lafayette College’s Brothers Irish, Billy and Jack.
From the upper echelons of D1 NCAA lacrosse, however, comes Duke University faceoff specialist Ben McCarthy. Over the course of his 17 games played during his 2025 freshman season as a Blue Devil, McCarthy won 64 of his 132 faceoffs taken (.485 FO%) and two goals to his name. The Haverford School Five-Star All-American will also be spending his rookie season with the GPCBLL alongside another young D1 hopeful, Eli Schaler, who recently announced his commitment to play Division 1 lacrosse at the University of Maryland. Schaler grew up in the youth hockey circuit and looks to bring his experience on the ice between the boards at Steelyard Sports.
