League Launches Nll Video Production Studio

The National Lacrosse League today announced the launch of NLL Productions, a video production studio that will create regular, ongoing digital content for use both at the league and team level. Alongside this launch, the League has appointed Mia Gordon, Lead Reporter, to manage the studio and further enhance the organization’s digital presence across platforms.

NLL Productions, opening in September, will focus on developing video content for digital distribution. Via a mobile production team, the studio will generate content daily, including player interviews, highlight packages and other videos for a variety of applications both at the corporate level and among the league’s teams. NLL Productions will be based out of the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre (TRAC), providing proximity and access to players and coaches for all nine NLL teams. Special NLL events held at the TRAC – including the 2016 Draft and Junior Tournament – will allow for the collection of additional content to be used through the year.

Gordon, who will work both behind-the-scenes and in front of the camera, is the first reporter to join NLL Productions. Gordon has extensive experience in sports broadcasting and digital content production, including videography, reporting, shooting, editing, producing, and creating content for television, digital web, and radio. Over the course of her career, she has served as a host, reporter, producer and videographer for TSN in Canada, Sun News Network, and NBC and CBS affiliates, among other organizations. Most recently, Gordon has been covering the Olympics for CBC, following Canadian athletes on their journey for gold. She also has deep roots in the NLL, serving as the in-game host for the NLL’s Toronto Rock.

“The future of nearly every industry and every organization lies in digital, and we’re committed to investing in innovative, digital programming that will continue to propel the league forward into a modern era of sports,” said Nick Sakiewicz, Commissioner of the NLL. “By generating and distributing a steady stream of video content across our channels, NLL Productions will drive fan engagement, connect with our key audiences and give them access to exclusive interviews and sneak peeks into the non-stop action and world-class talent in the league.”
