Rock’S Hickey Wins Pinty’S Wingman Award

The National Lacrosse League has announced Toronto Rock forward Brett Hickey as the Pinty’s Wingman of the Week award winner for Week 15 of the 2015 NLL regular season.

Hickey, who ranks tied for third in the league with 43 goals this season, scored a franchise-record seven goals in Toronto’s 14-7 home win over the Vancouver Stealth this past Friday. His 68 points (43+25) rank 13th overall in the NLL and have helped the first-place Rock to a league-best 12-4 record.

The 24-year-old has scored at least one goal in 15 of his 16 games played this season and he has registered at least a hat trick in 10 games this year. With 43 goals on 133 shots, Hickey’s .247 shooting percentage ranks fifth among all NLL players with 10 or more goals in 2015.

The Windsor, Ontario native was selected in the fifth round of the 2011 NLL Draft by the Stealth franchise. Prior to his breakout campaign this year, Hickey had a total of 10 points (5+5) in nine career games.
