Roughnecks Qualify Dobbie, Two More Before Start Of Free Agency

Calgary extends offers to NLL goal champ plus McFetridge & Veltman

The National Lacrosse League has announced that the Calgary Roughnecks have extended qualifying offers to forward Dane Dobbie, who led the NLL with 51 goals in 2014, along with transition player Peter McFetridge and forward Daryl Veltman. By sending the offers before the July 31 deadline, Calgary avoids restricted free agency for the trio with the NLL free agency period set to open on August 1.

The Roughnecks roster currently has five players who qualify as restricted free agents in transition players Curtis Manning and Travis Cornwall, defenseman Scott Carnegie, and goaltenders Mike Poulin and Frankie Scigliano. Defender Andrew McBride, the team’s longest-tenured player who serves as Roughnecks captain, enters unrestricted free agency along with forward Scott Ranger.
