Stealth Re-Signs Schuss With Three-Year Deal

The Vancouver Stealth have announced the team has signed forward Logan Schuss to a three-year contract pending league approval.

Schuss enters his third season in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and first full season with the Stealth. He appeared in seven games with Vancouver during the 2015 season after being acquired last March, in a trade that sent Johnny Powless to the Minnesota Swarm (now Georgia Swarm).

“It is a great feeling knowing I am going to be with the Stealth for the next three years. It is an awesome organization that I have really enjoyed playing for, and hope to help the team anyway I can on and off the floor,” said Schuss.

Schuss was the first overall selection in the 2013 NLL draft and in 34 career games, has racked up 139 points (58 goals, 81 assists). In his first season in the NLL, he was named the Rookie of the Year after registering 73 points (36 goals, 37 assists) in 18 games. With his hometown of Ladner being just a short drive from the Langley Events Centre, signing this long term deal is extra special for Schuss.

“It is great playing so close to home. A lot of my family and friends were thrilled when they heard about the trade to Vancouver last year. I had about 10-15 members of my family that came out on a nightly basis to watch me play, and it’s a special feeling looking up into the crowd and seeing them.”

Stealth President and General Manager Doug Locker has been thrilled with how Logan has fit into the Stealth organization.

“Logan is a player we wanted to have playing in the Stealth organization for the foreseeable future, and this long term agreement makes that clear. He is one of the top lefthanders in the game and is a threat every time he steps onto the floor. We could not be happier having him with us for the next three years.”

With training camp approaching, Schuss is looking forward to getting back on the floor with his teammates.

“I am really looking forward to this upcoming season. Looking at some of the players we have signed and drafted, I believe we are going to have one of the deepest rosters in the league. In talking with some of my teammates throughout the summer, they are just as excited as I am to get things going.”

The Stealth open the 2016 schedule at the Langley Events Centre on January 9 against the New England Black Wolves at 10 p.m. ET.
