Swarm Place Young Star Schuss On Team’S Holdout List For 2015

Minnesota’s 2014 NLL Rookie of the Year sitting out for start of ’15 season

The Minnesota Swarm have announced that forward Logan Schuss has been placed on the team’s Holdout List for at least the start of the 2015 National Lacrosse League season.

“Logan has taken a new job in Vancouver and is in the midst of his probationary period, which makes him unavailable to play with the Swarm at this time,” Swarm Owner and Governor John Arlotta said. “This could change during the 2015 season, but that is an unknown at this point. Although we’ll miss Logan, we feel very comfortable with the lefties that we’ve added to our roster this year, and they are complementing each other nicely thus far at training camp.”

Schuss, 23, was named the 2014 NLL Rookie of the Year after he led all first-year players in goals (36), assists (37), points (73), power play goals (9), and also finished fourth in loose balls (77). Schuss won the NLL Rookie of the Month award three-straight times from February to April. The Ladner, B.C. native played collegiate lacrosse at Ohio State University and was the first overall pick in the 2013 NLL Entry Draft.

Minnesota also released F Scott Jones, D Dominique Alexander and D Eric Guiltinan on Tuesday. The Swarm will announce their final 20-man roster on Thursday, Dec. 18 with the deadline set for 12 p.m. ET.
