The Saskatchewan Rush and Calgary Roughnecks host record crowds

The National Lacrosse League, the largest men’s professional indoor lacrosse league in North America, today announced that the Saskatchewan Rush and Calgary Roughnecks each played host to record crowds during their preseason matchups on Saturday, November 18, in front of 22,462 combined fans.

“We are extremely excited to see the record pre-season attendance numbers this weekend in Saskatchewan and Calgary,” said NLL Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz. “This marks yet another positive move forward for our league and is a tribute to our incredible staff, ownership, and world class players.”

The Saskatchewan Rush, took on the defending champion Georgia Swarm this Saturday at the SaskTel Centre. In front of a 9,605 person crowd, Rush fans had the opportunity to see a Champions Cup rematch that lead to the Swarm’s first NLL title last June. The Rush did not disappoint as they finished pre-season action with a monstrous 24-9 victory over the Swarm.

The Calgary Roughnecks, played host as they welcomed the rival Vancouver Stealth to the Scotiabank Saddledome this Saturday. A record 12,857 fans packed the stands to see a 13-5 victory for the home Roughnecks. Saturday’s game marked the end of pre-season for both teams as they begin prep before the regular season kicks off on December 8, for Face-off Weekend.
